Sheet music for flexible viola and violin duets, where the viola plays the melody and the violin can either play a complex or simple harmony part.

These duets are an extended version of my second tunebook: 34 original melodies, written in the folk traditions of England, Ireland, Scotland and beyond.

The melodies are written in alto clef and they come with chord symbols for an accompanist. There are two harmony parts written for violin in treble clef: a standard version which is of similar complexity to the melody, and a simplified version for less experienced violin players.

This is a duet pack which is an extension of my second tunebook, Round the Back of Dandelion Street.

This pack of duets is unusual in that the viola always plays the melody, and the violin is given a choice of two harmony parts.

One harmony part is of similar complexity to the melody, and the other harmony is a simpler one.

The allows the duets to be used in various different situations: a less experienced violin player might just play the simple harmony parts (and "grow into" the more complex versions as their ability develops); a more experienced violinist might develop a more complex arrangement with their duet partner, playing the simple harmony part the first time through the tune and the more complex version on the repeat. There are various different scores included to suit different needs.
